Hey guys I noticed a lot of folks reposting my stuff on tumblr now that's on my DA. I appreciate the link-backs but I'd still prefer it not be reposted. When it's reposted I don't get to see replies or comments on it (unless I want to go tracking down every repost and checking the comments, which would be weird) and it's harder to trace back to me. If you want it on your tumblr please make the extra effort to reblog it. If you can't find the original feel free to message me and I'll find it for you :)

I don't think this is totally unreasonable but if you feel like it's too much of an extra step, you can just as easily skip reposting my work lol.

Thanks!
Lol I haven't updated in awhile.
Hey if any of you own an iPad/iPhone/iPodtouch and like cool adventure games and music, then try this:

It's AMAZING

I seriously can't believe this game is an app. It's heads above every other app I've ever tried. It gave me chills and I even teared up a little. It's epic and beautiful and worth every cent.

Make sure you play it with the music waayyyyy up <3

Oh my goooooosh, I had forgotten about this project; it's been nearly two years since I submitted my work for it @w@

Broken Spell is a collaboration of artists to create a fairy tale card deck, organized by :iconjisuk:. Each artist contributed an illustration based on their favorite fairy tale. The profits go to *jisuk's charity choice, Save the Rhinos!

Check out more info about the project here:

If you'd like to preorder a deck, use this page: [link] (they had some trouble with preorders through Paypal so the link on the site no longer works).

There are a ton of amazing artists involved, so check it out!

I feel like I haven't logged into DA in like, forever. But it hasn't been that long has it...?

Just wanted to drop a note about Gaia dramas: please don't bring it here. That's what SF is for, guys.

Also, I'm playing Monster Hunter and I want to draw cats. Why don't I have time to draw cats... "Well, because you're playing too much video games, stupid" is what you should answer, and I would have no argument.

Hope everyone's having a nice November :D

So when I was younger, I liked DBZ. It was the very beginning of that whole youth anime boom, so on the local channels, the options were pretty much that and Pokemon and Sailor Moon. It helped me discover I preferred the shonen style of storytelling. I would consider myself a fan.

What I cannot imagine though... Is how much of a fan you have to be in order to drop $370 on something like this:

[link]

I mean like... Wow, really? How many episodes was he in? What's the appeal here?

It boggles me that it's sold out too @_@

Could you imagine someone being all like, "Omg, DBZ is the best, my favorite character EVER is that old fat guy from when they were on Namek!"

...that I could live somewhere in the mountains with no phone or internet or tv, just for a while maybe, or forever. Just me and a sketchbook and earth. No complexities like following trends or missing shows or making sure to message everyone back or they'll think you're a snob or a bitch. No pressures. No expectations.

I feel obligated to admit that lately I've been living with all the abilities and value of an amorphous blob. I've been flailing my stylus at my tablet for the past few months and apparently haven't done anything. Apologies for all the time I've wasted oozing.

Oh and apparently Disney's buying Marvel. How about that.

So I've been reading the DMP releases of the Ai no Kusabi novels, and I just found out while looking for info on the next novels that there will be.... A NEW OVA. 13 fucking episodes of gorgeous animation?! From the original studio?!?! No way, I must be dreaming:

aarinfantasy.com/news/anime-news/ai-no-kusabi-(2009)/
(ironically broken the first time I posted this)

You guys can see it too right?? I'm not hallucinating?? How did I get so out of the loop??? D:

Anyway, I normally don't get so fangirlish over these things, but I make an exception for Iason and Riki. I love both the old and new animation styles. They look like MEN. UNF.

Also I'm a little bummed because DMP has no info on volume 7 of the books... I can't really find any info on the original novels so I'm confused as to whether DMP is waiting on a rerelease in Japan, or if the original novels themselves were never completed? Which is a downer if that's the truth, since I love the original OVA story and would be depressed forever if it turned out they didn't have the same ending. If anyone has any info on that please send me linkage.

/slowpokefangirl.jpg Thanks for bearing with me :faint:

Just watched Ol Gregg on AS. Been waiting through Season three and Season one to watch it. AND A BUNCH OF LINES WERE CUT WTF

But no one seems to have noticed it? Was I so revved up I had some spontaneous blackouts while watching and lost chunks of time? Was there already a notice they'd have to cut it somewhere and I missed it? AM I NOT A 1337 ENOUGH GEEK??

Generally I love AS and feel they can do no wrong but this really broke my heart. I am hugely nerdly nerd. *weeps*

Editss: I never realized before they were cutting the ep's from 30 to 28 minutes FOR COMMERCIALS. I'M STILL GONNA WHINE LIKE A BABY IN CAPS THO

I missed my DA birthday! *gonk* June 27th. I ought to have drawn something.

Six years on this site... I wish I could remember my first deviation. It was probably terrible D:

Anyway, it's been awhile. How are you guys?

...IS IN LESS THAN A MONTH.

I HAVEN'T WORKED ON ANYTHIIIIIIING :faint:
Soooooo

This morning for some reason I woke up with an urge to pick up my commissions again. But then I remembered that I have way too much to do for work and that I should get some of that stuff done first. However it did remind me of how much of a huge dong I am for having so many commissions sit for so long, so I figured a little update on the situation wouldn't be a bad idea.

I always swore I'd never be one of those people who would accept commissions then disappear... But I totally am, and I'm starting to understand why it happens so often with other artists. It's just so easy, when you start working a job you love, to just get distracted by project after project and then suddenly, a month, months, YEARS have gone by and you haven't touched a commission. It's not an intentional effort to ignore them, it just keeps slipping and keeps slipping, until it's been so long you start to wonder if anyone even remembers you owe them anything... But I imagine it's harder to forget about on that end.

So as some of you know, and more of you SHOULD know, I work at Gaia Online. My schedule there has always been a little crazy, which I don't really mind, because it's fun to work there and satisfies the egotistical artist part of me that demands people talk about my work. However it does leave me with a lot less extra creative energy. The thing is too, that it's not just things like commissions that suffer... I haven't even had time to work on my own ideas. I'm slowly trying to rebalance my schedules so I'll at least have time for that, but yeah, it's hard to break the habit of wanting to make every single thing I work on super mind-blowingly awesome. Not that it shouldn't be the best I can make it, I just need to streamline and not spend so much extra time thinking about it.

I figure the least I can do is explain a little of what I do spend my time on, for those of you who are not yet aware.

Earlier, I was mainly an animator on Gaia's zOMG game, but since release we haven't been able to do many updates on the art end so I've been drifting away from that. Currently, I have four other projects bouncing around in my head. Two of them I can't really talk about, except that it involves items and comics and art (but then, what on Gaia doesn't involve all those). Another one is an evolving item, which I technically (and a little stupidly) volunteered to do, just because I've been wanting to make those items for several months now. For those of you unfamiliar, an evolving item is a pixel avatar item that users pay cash for, and changes every 2-3 weeks over a few months, sometimes having as many as 11-12 evolutions, each with several different poses. Also I'm working on an accompanying 4 koma for each evolution. It's a commitment.

The fourth and most important is the random box item. Those of you who know Gaia have probably got your hackles up right about now, haha. The random box item is a "consumable" item that we release every so often, and contains a dozen or so brand new items as well as several common items, so you don't know what you are going to get when you open it. It's a bit of an evil mechanic, but business can be evil sometimes, lol. Users hate these because getting the item you want can be really hard, but, they still sell better than any other type of item, so we rely on them more heavily than users realize. One way we're trying to increase the value besides including high quality items, is the entertainment aspect; it's bit of a tradeoff, having to do an item that is generally not well loved by users, but also getting to do some story or character development, as well as illustration with it. Hopefully we'll be able to get to the point someday where users will actually enjoy the box item... But it's just a hope right now ^^;

Sooo anyway, that's where I stand right now, and that's why the spot where I'm standing is so far away from commissions. I don't know why I suddenly woke up and thought about them... Maybe it's some repressed guilt, on top of the regular guilt. Even with all my excuses I still do feel mean about it, and I really hope I'll get some time soon to finish them.

Just letting y'all know. You've all been so patient, and I really hope I'll be able to make it worth the time you've spent waiting. Thank you <3
I like, seriously just noticed I am subscribed somehow. I don't remember how long that's been there @_@ Or if I ever thanked the person. I haven't had my email set up properly before today so I never got the email telling me whoooo :C

In other news, I'm going to make a fuckload of Hetalia paper children for Fanime. I just have to figure out which characters to use since there's no way I'm making them all. So far it's definite:

Italy (just the little one)
Germany
Japan
America
UK
France
Spain
Russia
Lithuania
Maybe Poland
Chibitalia and the Holy Roman Empire
Whatsisname... Austria?
And maybe old man Rome just for kicks :P

Anyone I'm just sacrilegiously leaving out?

For anyone who doesn't know wtf I'm talking about, Axis Powers Hetalia is a japanese webcomic turned soontobe anime, about the various countries of the world as humans. You can find a bunch of the scanlated comics under the Links list here: [link]

It's very cute stuff, mildly boys love, but enjoyable even if you don't enjoy that kind of thing. The history references and how the countries personalities are formed is much lulz c:
I like how on a site where there are nipples featured daily, and you can post photos of women in bondage, naked and spreading their legs all over the place (as long as they aren't touching themselves, of course) without fear of repercussion, one can get reprimanded for posting heavily censored (albeit highly suggestive) blocks of color.

Aren't you just lovin' these double standards?

(I know this sounds bitter, but it's partially because, sometimes I'm just really honestly confused. I look at my stuff and I think, well, this isn't as offensive as these other images, so it should be fine to post, right? I just... I just don't get it! Am I really that desensitized? It just sucks because, like, if I ever get banned it's going to be because I just made an honest miscalculation, or didn't read the right set of rules or, something stupid and just, a mistake. Not because I have any ill will or am bent on fucking with people. But yeah, bawww and butthurt and so forth. Remember me fondly when I ascend to that great beyond.)

In related news, I have to check with y!gal staff first to make sure the image is acceptable, but if it is I'll be posting it over there. I'm not sure how they feel about sexy robots... Also thinking about editing it to make a worksafe version for here, for the hell of it. Dunno, maybe, maybe not.

-----------

In unrelated news, I've been considering "cleaning" my gallery for awhile. Meaning I'm going to go back and delete a bunch of old shit that I don't like anymore. So if you like my older stuff you should go back and save it within the next week. I really want to rein in my gal at under fifty deviations, so that's a lot of trimming.

Haiiii guys :B

So I just realized I'm in the middle of a hiatus; I have a lot of commissions and owed art gifts and prizes and so forth that I'm not keeping anyone updated about, and so I wanted to drop a quick note saying that I'm not forgetting about/ignoring you guys!

As some of you might know, I'm working at Gaia on its 'battle system' game, and we've really been getting into it lately, so the work load is increased and on tighter deadlines. I'm also working on another unannounced Gaia project, which you won't suspect even if you know Gaia ;) So needless to say, I've been bringing my work home a LOT.

So like, hopefully I'll get some free time in the next month.. or couple months... Well, maybe definitely next year......
Haii guys @_@

Sorry I've been so absent lately; works been a bitch! I've hardly produced any good new art, except for a few commissions here and there and looooootsa work only stuff which I can't post ;_;

But! Fanime's coming up, which means I'm gonna try and crank out a bunch of new fanart, including the second series of those little paper cutout characters I made last year: [link] I'm gonna try selling them by the sheet this time instead of laminated, so maybe they will sell a bit better and be less work for me :D

So the reason I write this journal is mostly.. I have not watched anime/read manga/played games in so long that I have no idea what people are into right now. Haha, I want to do some Vinland saga fanart but.. I get the idea most people will have no clue.

So like, if you guys feel like it, could you reply and tell me your favorite  character(s) from current anime/manga/games? I could go with the classic FinalFantasyKingdomHeartsNarutoInuYasha combo but I'd really like to try some new stuff. Also, if you saw this character on a cheap cute product in artist's alley, would you buy it?

I guess you could also suggest a character you would definitely buy if you saw it in the hanging chibi format, even if it's like Sephiroth or something. But, I dunno if I wanna end up doing say, all of the Organization members @_@

Hehe, sorry to use you guys as a poll like this. As a thanks, I'll definitely do a cutout of the most requested character, and provide a high res version so you guys can make it for free :D

Whew okay, back to the grind. Thanks guys!
Anyone do it?

I did a little of it in college, but I realized that if I wanted to get back into it, I lack a lot of knowledge on the subject. I still never learned two part molds @_@

Anyway, the question I want to ask if anyone does it, is what supplies do you use? Is there a place online that you buy it? Any tips beyond that?

I've been searching around for awhile for supplies, but all the sites that sell that sort of thing assume buyers have a greater knowledge of the subject. All I know is I used silicone rubber for the mold and some kind of high impact resin for the casting. I guess I should look for some figure making tutorials or something...
